C A D / C A M Crowns, Bridges, Implant Crowns

Having had various versions of CEREC CAD/CAM in the practice since 2004, you can rest assured that your restoration/crown/bridge/implant crown will be made of the highest quality materials and fabrication techniques. With us, you can have your ceramic restoration prepared and finished in just one visit. This means you'll probably only have to be made numb once and there's no risk that the temporary restoration might come off at an inopportune time. You also no longer need to have your mouth filled with impression 'goo' for 2-4 minutes, which will be great news to those with a strong gag reflex.

Check out the video below for an overview of the process

Wisdom teeth may or may not be problematic, however, it is quite common to find there is not enough space for one, two, three or all four wisdom teeth to erupt properly. Some people don't have all four wisdom teeth and others might have more than four.

It is also not uncommon for any number of wisdom teeth to be impacted. This is generally where the wisdom tooth is growing at an angle. This can lead to gum infections, movement of the tooth in front of it out of alignment, decay of the wisdom tooth and/or the tooth in front of it, or even cyst formation.

Often we will recommend extraction of difficult wisdom teeth with an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, especially if you have medical/health insurance that covers it.

For the less severely impacted teeth, we can offers surgical tooth extractions at our practice with great care and as gently as possible. It may be wise to consider sedation if the extraction is going to be particularly difficult.

Using our Cone Beam & Panoramic X-ray machine, we can accurately determine size, shape, and level of impaction of your wisdom teeth.

Dental Implants are the premier way to replace a missing tooth. They are non-removable, unlike plates (partial dentures). They do not require alteration of the adjacent teeth, unlike most bridges.

Using the Neoss or Biohorizons or Osstem implant systems, your teeth will be restored to a strong, natural appearance and will allow chewing as as per normal.

The process is highly technical involving planning using 3D imaging, surgical placement of the implant, a healing time of several months to allow osseointegration (bone fusion to the implant), and then restoration of the implant.

Root canal treatment is an extremely technical procedure. At NorthCare Dental Centre, we use the best materials and techniques to ensure you get the best results. Typically consisting of two appointments 4 weeks apart, your tooth will be thoroughly cleaned of its infection and sealed.

The procedure is painless as it is carried out under local anaesthetic.

We choose to use the Sybron TF Adaptive system and you can rest assured that every file that enters your tooth will be brand new ie it will never have been used on anyone else. This means the probabilty of metal fatigue and fracture is much lower. You may be surprised to learn that our single use policy is not a universal policy.

Below is a video for dentists but it may also be useful for you to watch to understand the process.

With a new Sirona XG3D Cone Beam CT x-ray machine, we have the facility to take 2D and 3D x-rays as well as multiple types of cephalograms.

This allows us to measure not only the height but the width of the bone for when planning dental implants. We can assess in 3 dimensions the size and shape of your wisdom teeth. We can also accurately check the internal anatomy of teeth when looking at Root Canal Treatment. Small FOV (Field Of View) scans allow a minimum of x-ray radiation while gaining the maximum in diagnostic value. This adds a whole new dimension to our ability to diagnose and treat our patients with the utmost care and accuracy.
